Man, i feel personally attacked by this video. I literally use like every mod you tell me not to use LoL. I was reinstalling everything and rebuilding all my mods for skyrim after this random new patch dropped, and low and behold, I found your video while looking for new things to add and get smacked in the face.

Northern Roads is a good mod

I got scared when I opened the video, read the description (before watching it) and saw almost all my mods listed there, then I saw the video and those were not the mods to remove but the alternatives to replaces and felt relieved! My modlist looks good then, just a few ones to change.

I still use DAR because i use some idle animations that sadly can't run on OAR, and i have to say it still works perfectly fine without troubles for me, but yeah i would recomend use OAR than DAR for compability

The mod you showed for the collegue of winterhold is from 2021, it didn't come out recently like you stated. There is a mod thou that came out in april that also brings those 2 overhauls together but now im not sure if i should download the old one in your video or the new one, why did you say it was new??

9:26 Thank god I'm not the only one. I went through hell and high water trying to figure out why there were holes in the world and figured out it was this mod. Did the LOOT fix only to replace it with blended roads anyway. Still love the clutter though, I use JustAndrew7's version (/mods/126175) which fixes a lot of landscape issues (again) in the other popular NR Clutter Only mod. NR is a good mod, the lack of patches is unfortunate though. Good video & good advice, wish I had seen this before diving into a 2 week long rabbit hole that is modding skyrim in current year. 550 mods later, at least it boots 🤷‍♂.

Would be cool if you cover the lesser towns like Riverwood and Ivarstead. Definitely would love to see em as fully fleshed out as the other cities and there are a few mods that does that

"Wet and Cold" - this mod causes random freezes. So if you guys have this mod installed and didn't know what caused them, here you are.

I had to stop watching and I as a rule trust your judgement, but so many of the suggested mods have a ghastly number of bugs and people complaining in comments they don't work correctly.

I agree with others comments. For Winterhold the best mod is "The Great Cities". In the lore the old Winterhold was able to match the glory of Solitude and Windhelm, and was also Capital ofSkyrim for some time. So even after the destruction of Great Collapse (that destroyed more or less half of the city, not 90%) plus some degradation by the time, there should be more than 4-5 houses. It should be at least the size of vanilla Morthal (as TGC do), not smaller than Riverwood and Rorikstead (like in COTN). Plus the architecture of TGC, with stone building, is more fitting in lore (it was a city magically created from the coast and mountains around), environment (lot of stones aviable, not as much wood) and it matches the College style (that used to be more integrated in the city). And finally, while being bigger in population and interiors and more fitting in desing, with signs of the old glory, it is also better in showing the disaster (with more building ruins). I agree 100% on Falkreath COTN being the best (but i play with that and TGC combined, mostly to have the cemetery, internal burial site and back walls of the second, that fits too). Morthal COTN again the best, but Redbag one deserve a try. Dawnstar COTN too, but i think that TGC vibes are similar. For morthal and dawnstar a good combo COTN+ETAC (to have more buildings and NPCs). Another alternative, especially for Falkreath and Dawnstar, that is worth a mention is "Holds - The City Overhault" (with those 2 cities having thier own cell instead of being on the exterior world)

Community Shaders and ReShade don't hold a candle to ENB, as far as I know. ReShade is just a filter over your screen, and Community Shaders mostly just tries to emulate ENB using SKSE. ENB is still being updated and, despite the developer being a grumpy guy and somewhat unpleasant person for some people, ENB is still a superior option. Again, as far as I know. But the fact, that the infamous multiple light sources problem was solved by ENB years before Community Shaders did the same thing, speaks for itself.

FR COTN looks fantastic but are a pain in the A*ss to make work properly even with installing a millions patch for them. This is a shame that after all of your work, you will still find floating objects everywhere and so ...

im thinking about overhauling skyrims stories and quests, and this video only fueled these ambitions.

If you want a crash free experience, then learn to mod and do some conflict resolution, stop blaming mods when you barely check if they have some files being overwritten. Use your brain please.

For a very light alternative to alternate start try Ralof or Hadvar (alternate start). Also, hop on the Pandora train,you won't regret it.

My solution to avoid the recent crash fest? Go back to legendary edition. I’ve been on a new play through and it’s a seamless experience. I’d better say that quiet in case Bethesda decide to screw that up as well.

I don't like Boom Em Unread Books Glow for Oldrim used to work perfectly, the exact way I wanted it to, but now this new one just feels like it wants to do its own thing and has way too much customisation and I just want, unread books to glow.

There's actually a new animation loader mod called Pandora Behavior Engine that essentially combines FNIS and Nemesis and is pretty easy to use depending on the mod loading program you use.
